If you’ve been thinking about buying a home sometime in the very near future this informaiton could prove valuable.

The Homebuyer Tax Credit now falls into two categories:

Over the last few days I’ve spent a fair amount of time on my favorite driver message board, ClassADrivers.com and many of the conversations that I’ve participated in have dealt with finding employment.  As I’m sure you’re all aware, some painfully so, the economy isn’t what it was even a couple of years ago.  That certainly rings true for the trucking business.

All of those conversations got me wondering if there was maybe some area of the trucking industry that was possibly being overlooked in regards to finding a job.  After some contemplation I may have come up with an area of the industry that warrants your consideration.  If you’re looking for a job, or wanting to change jobs please read on.

I’ve met many drivers who are avid readers on the road.  Reading is a tremendous way to while away the hours waiting for the next load or delivery.  With winter coming on fast reading is especially popular.

Usually when I get some home-time I’ll take all the books that I’ve read to the house and put them up on a shelf or in a box.  I would sometimes take them to a used book store and get pennies on the dollar for otherwise valuable books. If you’re like me, it’s painful proposition.

Some time ago my wife came across a really great service online

If you’ve been around trucking at all over the last year and a half then you’ve undoubtedly heard about the Transportation Workers Identification Credential, better known as the TWIC card.  You’ve probably heard a fair amount of grumbling too.   I hope to cut through some of the confusion with this post.

I just got off the phone with Trina from Oakley Transport.  She informed me that Oakley is hiring for their citrus division in Florida.  Drivers average 60-70 hours per week and are dispatched from their homes.  That means the driver needs a safe location in which to park the tractor/trailer near home.  Only 1 year of experience is needed and no special endorsements are required.  There is one little monkey wrench, however.   The driver needs to live in or very close to either:  Lake Wales, Ft. Meyers, Clewiston, or LaBelle, FL.

You can contact Trina and Oakley Transport @ 877-882-6537 ext. 3508

iPod Touch

iPod Touch

For my first post I thought it appropriate to talk about what got this blog going in the first place.  What the catalyst was.  It actually wasn’t one individual thing.  I had heard about podcasts, blogs, and iPods in the past. Until three years ago, however, I had never even listened to a podcast, never seen an iPod, or read any blogs.

At the time I was driving for a trucking company that provided XM radio in all their tractors and it didn’t take long to discover many great programs and stations on XM.  I can remember first hearing
